Proclaiming the glory of God's grace
Bethel Presbyterian Church

Bethel is reading through the Bible in a year--join us!

A knowledge of Scripture is an essential part of our faith. The book of Acts records a simple story of a group of believers in Berea who are commended because they took what they heard from Paul and "eagerly examined the Scriptures to see if what he said was true" (Acts 17:10-15). What a testimony to those believers!

If you have never read through the entire Bible, then this is an easy and helpful way to do it. If you have done it before--do it again! You can do each day's reading in about 20 min, and if you miss a day (or more), it's ok...just start back up again. THIS IS NOT A CONTEST! It is simply a way for us to be challenged, encouraged, and refreshed by God as He speaks through His Word.

Let's be like the Bereans and dig into God's Word together!

Current Sermon Series:

“Galatians: No Other Gospel"

The true message of the Gospel has always been a "stumbling block" and considered "foolishness" (I Corinthians 1:22). After all, isn't there something that we need to do in order to earn our standing before God? Isn't there something that we must achieve or some type of status that we must have before God gives us his grace?

Absolutely not! As we explore Paul's letter to the Galatians we will focus on his insistence that "no one is justified before God by the law" (Galatians 3:11), but that salvation comes through "the Lord Jesus Christ, who gave himself for our sins to deliver us from the present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father, to whom be the glory forever and ever. Amen." (Gal 1:3-4).

This month:

February 5: "Above All Else" Psalm 145. Baptism and Scout Sunday.

February 12: "Bearing Burdens" Galatians 6:1-10

February 19: "Dead to the World" Galatians 6:11-18. This concludes our study in the book of Galatians.

February 26: "The Bread of Life" John 6. Today we begin a new Lenten series on the "I am" statements of Jesus.
