Ministries & Small Groups

Bethel is blessed to have some growing and thriving ministries and small groups that are listed below. We encourage you to get involved where the Lord leads you.  We are also a church family that is open to the Spirit’s leading of new ideas and ministries if you’d like to start one.  Please talk to Pastor Josh for questions, ideas, or concerns. the Way--our time of relaxed but reverent worship and Bible study on Wednesday evenings. More info is on our "Services" page.

Sunday School-classes for all ages, 9:30M-10:15AM, Sept-May. More info is on our "What We Are Studying" page.

Women’s Fellowship-for ladies of all ages.  We meet the first Thursday of each month in various homes.

Young Couples-typically meets twice a month for fellowship and study.

Youth Night (pre-K--6th grade)--Wednesday nights are Youth Nights here at Bethel! From 5:00-6:00pm we have a time for our pre-k through 2nd graders, and from 6:45-8:15pm we have a time for our 3rd-6th graders. Both groups have a time of games, lessons, crafts, and fun! For the older group, parents are encouraged to bring their kids and then stay for the Way.

7^th-12^th grade youth group-meets weekly at Bethel for food, games, fellowship, and devotions. We also do various service projects and missions trips. For more, see our 'Youth Group' page.

Young Adults (18-30)-Several area groups meet weekly. For more on this ministry, visit www.ignitepa.org

Bethel Bible Series-a comprehensive two-year study on the entire Bible. The group meets Tuesday evenings from 6:00-7:30pm. For more info, contact the church office.

Vacation Bible School-weeklong outreach ministry each summer for children in the community.

Committees (with Chairperson)

Deacons--(George Postlethwait) oversee the various care and connections ministries of the church, e.g. visiting shut-ins/hospitalized, bread ministry for visitors and new members, care packages for college students, prayer chain, etc.

Missions-(Jim Wright & Nick Starosta) plans and coordinates local, national and international missions giving/projects.

Property- (Mike Lucas) works to sustain the Bethel Church property inside and out.

Interpretation & Stewardship- (Ian Angelo) works to plan and implement annual budget as well as educate congregation.

Fellowship- (Kellie Baird) co-ordinates dinners, parties, luncheons, bowling/game nights, picnics, dances, etc.

Worship- (Tom Bruker) team meets monthly to plan and implement ideas into our Sunday worship (e.g. music, drama, bell choir, readings, etc).

Christian Ed-  (Judi Shipman) oversees and equips all teaching ministries (Sunday School, Kingdom Kids, etc.)

Nominating- (Jim Wright) prayerfully nominates officers (elders and deacons) to be elected by the congregation to serve in leadership and minstry positions.

Praise and Play Pre-School (3-4 year olds)

(Kim Champ) A ministry held at Bethel Church during the school year.  It meets Monday, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 9-12AM.  Students learn letters and numbers as well as praise songs and Bible stories. See our "Preschool" page for more.
